Azerbaijan increases import of electric vehicles by over 9 times

In January 2023, Azerbaijan imported 6,881 vehicles for various purposes for $102.620 million, Report informs referring to the State Customs Committee.

This is 21.04% and 50.44% more than in the same period of 2022.

Last month, imports of vehicles intended for the transportation of 10 or more people, including the driver, decreased by 63.64% to 20 units (in the amount of $1.002 million), imports of cars and other vehicles, intended mainly for the transportation of people, increased by 23.46% to 6,458 units ($91.448 million).

Of these cars, 933 (for $21.059 million) are hybrid, and 119 (for $4.937 million) are electric vehicles. Imports of hybrid vehicles decreased by 17.94%, while those of electric vehicles increased by 9.2 times.
