Azerbaijan imports over 400,000 smartphones in January-May

Azerbaijan imported 401,157 smartphones worth $183.8 million in January-May 2026, according to Report's calculations based on data from the State Statistical Committee.

This was 26% higher in value terms but 13% lower in volume compared with the same period of 2025.

During the specified period, Azerbaijan imported 297,114 smartphones worth $139.5 million from China, up 26% in value but down 19% in volume year-on-year. Imports from Vietnam totaled 95,177 units worth $38.2 million, up 21% in value and 14% in volume. Imports from India reached 8,730 units worth $6 million, up 82% in value and 39% in volume.

Azerbaijan also imported 96 smartphones worth $126,000 from Thailand, with no imports recorded from the country a year earlier, and 20 smartphones worth $17,800 from South Korea, down 36% in value and 91% in volume year-on-year.

In 2025, 80.4% of the 1,344,329 smartphones imported into Azerbaijan came from China.
