Azerbaijan, IMF discuss tax reforms and economic outlook

Azerbaijan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have discussed ongoing reforms in the country's tax policy and tax administration.

The talks took place during a meeting between Deputy Economy Minister Samad Bashirli and IMF Mission Head for Azerbaijan Anna Bordon, the Ministry of Economy said.

The two sides also exchanged views on current and medium-term economic forecasts, structural reforms, measures aimed at diversifying Azerbaijan's economy, and other issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Azerbaijani officials outlined efforts to expand state support mechanisms for businesses, introduce new policy tools, and promote investment in the non-oil and gas sector. They also highlighted opportunities for strengthening cooperation with international financial institutions.
