Azerbaijan boosts spending on milk and cream imports by 55%

In January–April of 2026, Azerbaijan imported 8,105 tons of milk and cream, valued at more than $14.5 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Customs Committee.
According to the latest data, this represents an increase of 2,225 tons (37.8%) in volume and nearly $5.2 million (55%) in value compared to the same period last year.
During four months, spending on milk and cream imports accounted for 0.2% of Azerbaijan's total import costs.
Overall, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $17.403 billion in the initial four months of 2026, which is 2.9% more than in the same period last year. Of this, $11.879 billion came from exports and $5.525 billion from imports. Year‑on‑year, exports grew by 35.2%, while imports fell by 32.1%.
As a result, a trade surplus of $6.354 billion was recorded in 4 months, which is 9.7 times higher compared to the corresponding period last year.
