Azerbaijan begins exporting urea to France

Azerbaijan exported 213,109 tons of urea worth $88.2 million in January-July this year.

According to Report's calculations based on data from the State Statistics Committee, this represents a 12% decline in value and a 37% decrease in volume compared with the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold 109,911 tons (-58%) of urea to Ukraine for $42.1 million (-44%); 30,949 tons worth $14.4 million to South Africa, with no supplies recorded a year earlier; 14,244 tons worth $9 million to India, also with no supplies recorded a year earlier; 19,062 tons worth $5.7 million to France; and 14,485 tons (+2.9 times) worth $5 million (+3.7 times) to Romania.

This year, Azerbaijan supplied urea to France for the first time in the past 16 years, based on official foreign trade statistics available publicly since 2011.

In 2025, Ukraine accounted for 72.4% of the 543,532 tons of urea exported from Azerbaijan.
