Ambassador: Panama is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan in creation and development of free economic zones

Panama is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the creation and development of free economic zones, and restoration of liberated territories, Ambassador of Panama to Azerbaijan, Mariela del Carmen Sagel Rosas, told Report.

“A mission (Head ProPanama) will come to Baku from Panama in September. This mission will demonstrate the potential in the field of tourism, and cooperation on free economic zones will be discussed. We want to pay special attention to the restoration of the liberated territories. We want to exchange knowledge and experience in this field in the regions of Azerbaijan.”

Panama has 12 free zones, the largest of which is the Colon Free Zone.

According to the ambassador, Azerbaijan and Panama can also cooperate in education, developing green energy, etc.

She recalled that in 1976, Panama participated in the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Sri Lanka, and this was a significant event for Panama, which was negotiating with the United States at that time.

The diplomat emphasized that Azerbaijan currently plays an important role in the Non-Aligned Movement.
