Agribusiness presented as separate investment direction at AIIF 2026

Agribusiness is presented as a separate investment direction at the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026), with a focus on the value chain and innovation, Deputy Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication Abdulrahim Dadashov said, Report informs.

According to him, the forum's agenda is in line with changes in the global investment environment.

"In the first half of 2026, foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas sector amounted to $877.7 million, 19.6% more than in the same period last year and almost 1.9 times more than in the first half of 2021," Dadashov said.

He noted that the session titled "Innovation and Technological Development in Agribusiness" is of particular interest.

"Modern agribusiness covers the entire economic chain - from seeds and means of production to processing, storage, logistics, certification, branding and exports," the expert emphasized.

According to him, specific projects are planned to be signed as part of the forum, including Swiss-Azerbaijani plantations and processing enterprises in Aghstafa, a poultry farming project in Aghdam, and the production of veterinary vaccines.

Dadashov added that the forum's agricultural agenda is aligned with the priorities of the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development for 2022-2026 and the State Program for Agriculture for 2026-2030.
