Over the past two years, a total of 644 facilities in Azerbaijan's Khankandi city, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts have been leased for entrepreneurial activities, said Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankandi, and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, Report informs.
He made the remarks during the National Business Development Forum held in Khankandi.
The forum addressed topics such as business growth in Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions, the investment climate, tax and incentive mechanisms, and ways to expand business activity. Entrepreneurs' questions were also answered.
Yusubov emphasized that projects in the region aim not only to restore infrastructure but also to ensure sustainable economic development, create new jobs, and encourage private investment.
The official underscored that state support for the development of entrepreneurship in the liberated territories is one of the main directions of this process.
"During this period, investors have put more than 100 million manats (just over $58.8 million) into the region. About 4,000 people have been employed through facilities that have already started operating. Once the remaining facilities are launched, the number of jobs is expected to reach 6,000. Currently, nearly 34,000 people are settled in the region, and part of them are employed in the private sector."
