A total of 93 agribusiness fairs have been held to date by the Agricultural Innovation Center under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture, Deputy Agriculture Minister Seymur Safarli told Report's western bureau.
"The main purpose of organizing these fairs is to educate our farmers, facilitate interaction among them, and promote the exchange of experience in the application of modern technologies," he said, noting that efforts in this area will continue.
"Agribusiness festivals provide a very broad platform for sharing best practices," the deputy minister added.
According to Safarli, the State Program for the Development of Agricultural Production and Processing for 2026–2030, approved by the head of state, has created new opportunities for the development of the agricultural sector.
"The State Program envisages the establishment of approximately 20,000 hectares of new orchards across the country by 2030, including apricot orchards," he emphasized.
Safarli noted that the Samukh District has significant potential in horticulture and agriculture, particularly for exporting products to international markets.
"The Ministry of Agriculture continuously supports our farmers with state assistance, including certification for access to international markets and the establishment of processing enterprises. We will continue to support them," he said.
The Third Apricot Festival was held today in the Samukh District.
