Natig Amirov: Azerbaijan held major agricultural reforms in last decade

Revolutionary reforms have been implemented in Azerbaijan's agricultural sector over the past decade, said Natig Amirov, Assistant to the President, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Industrial Issues of the Presidential Administration, according to Report's correspondent in Saatli.
He made the remark during a regional meeting on the Mil-Mughan Economic Zone within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing in Azerbaijan for 2026–2030.
Amirov noted that the reforms were carried out under the direct leadership and personal supervision of President Ilham Aliyev: "During this period, state programs were adopted for the development of viticulture, tea-growing, rice cultivation, citrus farming, hazelnut growing, tobacco, sericulture, and cotton production. State support for the agricultural sector was increased, and as a result, production and export potential in several traditional areas grew significantly."
The official also emphasized that irrigation projects and new technologies introduced in Azerbaijan strengthened the agricultural sector, important work was carried out to supply farming equipment, and the machinery fleet was almost completely renewed.
