Ministry of Agriculture: Azerbaijan to have additional grain storage facilities for 150,000 tons

Azerbaijan will introduce new state support mechanisms for the construction of grain storage facilities with a total capacity of 150,000 tons, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Seymur Safarli said at a meeting on the State Program for the Development of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Aquaculture for 2026-2030, Report informs.

According to him, expanding grain storage infrastructure is one of the key priorities of the state program.

"When constructing new silos, a discount of up to 40% of the equipment cost will be applied. Furthermore, interest rates on loans will be subsidized for 40-50% of the investment," the deputy minister noted.

He emphasized that expanding grain storage capacity will help reduce crop losses, allow farmers to sell their produce during more favorable periods, and increase the stability of the country's grain market.

Safarli also noted that in order to expand the storage capacity of agricultural products in Azerbaijan, the creation of refrigerated warehouses with a total capacity of an additional 100,000 tons will be encouraged.
