Majnun Mammadov: First greenhouse industrial zone being developed in Jabrayil

Azerbaijan's first greenhouse industrial zone in the liberated territories is being established in the Jabrayil district, Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov told journalists following an event held as part of the 100th Jubilee Agribusiness Festival, according to Report's correspondent in Aghdam.

The minister noted that, for the first time in the country, greenhouses are planned to be developed within a dedicated industrial zone and concentrated in a single location.

"Private investors are expected to finance the greenhouse facilities, while the state will provide the necessary infrastructure, including electricity, gas, and other utility lines. The first such project is being implemented in the liberated territories, opposite the Araz Valley Economic Zone in Jabrayil. The goal is to capitalize on the opportunities and potential for developing a processing industry in the area," he said.

Mammadov added that the zone's location along the future Zangazur Corridor route would facilitate agricultural exports from a logistics perspective.

The minister also stressed that the use of drones in agriculture will be expanded.

"Drone technology is still relatively new in the country. Both farmers and companies need time to adapt to it. Their use is currently being implemented in a controlled manner. As the sector develops and practical applications become clearer, drone usage will expand further. The ministry and the Agrarian Innovation Center continue to provide training for drone operators and promote the use of drones in agriculture," he said.
