The establishment of 52 agroparks across 32 districts has given a significant boost to the development of Azerbaijan's agricultural sector, said Khalid Ahadov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan on Socio-Economic issues.
According to Report's correspondent in Bilasuvar, Ahadov shared this insight at a regional meeting on the Shirvan–Salyan economic region within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing in Azerbaijan for 2026–2030.
Ahadov noted that ongoing agrarian reforms required bringing new land resources into circulation: "By order of the head of state, 169,100 hectares of land that had long remained unused were returned to agricultural use," he said.
The official emphasized that the creation of 52 agroparks in 32 districts has become an effective tool for stimulating entrepreneurship. This has contributed significantly to the production of competitive goods, reduced dependence on imports of certain food products, and created new jobs.
Ahadov also added that direct subsidies remain the main mechanism of state support for the agricultural sector: "The new subsidy instruments being applied today promote regional specialization, the adoption of innovative technologies, efficient use of land and water resources, and ultimately the sustainable development of the entire sector."
