Netafim, an Israeli company that installs and manufactures irrigation systems, wants to expand its operations in the liberated areas, Illia Krasnoshekov, the company's regional manager, told Report.
According to him, the company has installed irrigation systems for orchards on 40 hectares in Zangilan: “We are in talks with the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as with agricultural companies investing in the liberated areas. The implementation of projects in Karabakh is of great interest. We are negotiating to further develop our relations. "
The company official noted that they have been operating in Azerbaijan for more than 20 years: “Our office in Azerbaijan was opened in 2008 and we have worked in various fields during this period. We started our work in Azerbaijan with several projects. At present, we have a large number of projects. This is a great success. As part of our cooperation with Azerbaijan, we have built irrigation systems for orchards on 20-25,000 hectares.
İ. Krasnoshekov said that the cost of projects implemented by the company over the years is estimated at about $ 50 million.
He added that the company has been operating in the world market for 50 years: “We operate in more than 100 countries. We bring innovative solutions to the agricultural sector, as well as trends in irrigation systems. Our slogan is "Grow more with less". Our goal is to prevent the spontaneous use of water in the world. When we first came to Azerbaijan, farmers said that there were enough water resources. But now farmers are complaining that water resources are declining. In this case, it is necessary to apply innovative technologies in irrigation. At the same time, the agricultural sector's demand for water is constantly growing. We really have good irrigation solutions to influence the weather. The installation of our equipment reduces emissions into the atmosphere. We also explain to farmers the importance of our new technologies. Azerbaijani farmers are interested in buying our irrigation systems. However, our systems are very expensive, which is not affordable for them. "
In 1995-2021, Israel invested $ 24 million in Azerbaijan's non-oil sector. Earlier this year, 91 Israeli companies were registered in Azerbaijan. These companies operate in agriculture, industry, construction, and other fields.
