Georgia increases frozen fish imports from Azerbaijan ninefold

Georgia imported 78 tons of frozen fish worth $300,000 from Azerbaijan in January-June of this year, Report informs, citing calculations based on data from Georgia's National Statistics Office.

This is four times more in value terms and nine times more in quantity than in the same period of 2025.

In the first six months of this year, Georgia imported 8,661 tons of fish worth $29 million from foreign countries, up 25% in value and down 2% in quantity from a year earlier.

During the reporting period, Georgia purchased 959 tons of fish worth $6.2 million from Chile, 936 tons worth $3.2 million from Iceland, 1,089 tons worth $2.99 million from the United States, 554 tons worth $2.35 million from Norway, and 384 tons worth $1.43 million from Denmark.
