Gadimova: Digital transformation plays key role in managing Azerbaijan's agricultural sector

Azerbaijan's future agricultural policy is being built on digital transformation, innovative agro-meteorological integration, and AI-based management models, Ilhama Gadimova, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, said during the event under the theme Early Warning Systems and Climate-Resilient Cities held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.

The deputy minister emphasized that the current goal is not only to inform producers but to equip them with advanced technological solutions:

"In the modern era, competitive agriculture is not just about producing crops – it is about effectively managing risks, protecting ecosystems, and adapting to climate change. The integration of agro-meteorological forecasts into EKTIS (Electronic Agricultural Information System) and the application of AI-based management systems will further strengthen the resilience of Azerbaijan's agricultural sector, enhance the competitiveness of local producers, and make a significant contribution to the country's food security architecture."

Gadimova added that early warning systems, digital innovations, and smart management are no longer alternatives but essential conditions for a sustainable future.
