As part of the State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing in Azerbaijan for 2026–2030, the combine harvester fleet will be renewed, and laser leveling will be conducted on 84,900 hectares of farmland, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Gadimova said at a regional meeting on the Mil-Mughan Economic Zone within the framework of the state program, according to Report's correspondent in Saatli.
She pointed out that the program envisions updating the grain harvester fleet in 22 regions with 571 new machines: "This step is significant in reducing grain harvest losses and ensuring the harvest is completed within optimal timeframes."
Gadimova added that the program also provides subsidies for the application of laser leveling technology: "This technology is particularly important for irrigated grain fields. If the land is uneven, water is distributed inefficiently, pooling in some areas while failing to reach others. As a result, plants in one area suffer from excess moisture, while others face water shortages. Laser leveling improves irrigation efficiency, ensuring uniform soil moisture and even crop growth across the entire plot."
