Azerbaijan sees ninefold surge in sheep imports from Russia

Azerbaijan imported 298,246 heads of sheep, valued at $32.2 million in the first 11 months of 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 76% in number and 94% in value, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

During this period, Azerbaijan imported sheep from:

- Russia: 128,608 heads (+9 times) worth $14.9 million (+10 times);

-Georgia; 169,638 heads (+12%) worth $17.3 million (+17%).

In 2024, 88% of the 182,000 sheep imported into Azerbaijan came from Georgia.
