Azerbaijan's agricultural sector grew nearly 38% in past decade

Over the last 10 years, Azerbaijan's agriculture sector has grown by 37.8% in real terms, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zaur Aliyev stated at a press conference dedicated to the State Program on the Development of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing for 2026–2030, Report informs.

Aliyev noted that a sustained growth dynamic has been observed in the agricultural sector over the last 10 years: "This applies to both the crop production and livestock sectors. Over the last 10 years, the overall growth in agriculture in real terms has been 37.8%. This figure was 48.2% in the crop production sector and 29.6% in the livestock sector. As overall positive trends, I can also note that the export of agricultural and food products has increased by 62.8%."

The deputy minister added that in this context, relevant measures and activities have also been implemented in the legal and institutional framework, as well as in expanding infrastructure capabilities supporting the sector: "The capacity of cold storage facilities has increased, grain elevators and logistics capabilities have been improved, and farmers' access to leasing has also been improved. Leases have been provided for more than 96,000 units of agricultural machinery."
